In 1999 the Labour Court recommended payment of the specialist Qualification Allowance (€2938 p.a.) to Nurses who had a relevant skills based Qualification which they were using in the course of their work. The Court said the Course must be at Category II or equivalent as determined by An Bord Altranais.
Having regard to all the recent speculation in the press about Premium Pay I am pleased to note that payment of premiums at the appropriate rates remains in place for all current and future staff assigned to Premium times
Time and one half of the normal basic rate per hour for each hour worked between the hours of 8 a.m. to midnight Monday to Friday and from 8 a.m. to lunchtime on Saturday.
Double time of the normal basic rate per hour from midnight to 8 a.m. Monday to Friday and from lunchtime Saturday to 8 a.m. Monday.
